Wolviston Group are currently recruiting a Mobile Electrical Supervisor. This is a permanent position to be based in Newcastle. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

The normal working hours for this role will be Monday to Friday, 8:00am until 16:30pm. You will also be part of the on-call rota, maximum of 1 week in 4.

Reporting in to the Contract Manager, the Electrical Supervisor’s role requires a senior and experienced person with presence, commitment, good communication skills & relevant competencies to ensure that Electrical Compliance, training, contracts, quality, health and safety and operational commitments are met and exceeded.

They will give advice and direction to the engineering team, monitor & increase their productivity, develop the engineers to become “Best in Class” in Newcastle. The supervisor will also continue to work on the tools as required with a typical split of 60% working and 40% supervisory/quality control.

The successful candidate would also act as QS for the Newcastle Office

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

  • Provide a safe and healthy environment and working conditions for all electrically qualified and/or competent engineers.
  • Comply with all Company Electrical policies/procedures to ensure timely and effectively implementation.
  • Act as the Newcastle’s NICEIC Qualified Supervisor
  • Produce installation/repair quotations in conjunction with Newcastle Managers
  • Attend Regional Electrical Compliance Meetings as the Newcastle Office Representative
  • Liaise as required with the companies Electrical Engineer
  • In conjunction with the Regional Manager, develop training programmes to enhance the electrical skills base of the
  • Newcastle Engineering team
  • Carry out testing and inspection of fixed wire installations
  • Check, Approve and Authorise Testing Certificates and maintain records using NICEIC software
  • Ensure any external audit score is achieved under the contract and increased to and above the 95%. Prepare for all future audits and focus on becoming a “Best in Class”.
  • To be customer focused within all areas of operational activities and maximise relationships with the Newcastle Customer Base.
  • Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent properly trained teams, with all post holders being appropriately skilled and experienced to undertake their role effectively.
  • Be Accountable for & Increase the productivity of the engineers by monitoring their performance, identifying training to increase the skill set as required. Productivity to be discussed regularly with the Newcastle Management Team
  • Deliver effective advice, leadership to the engineers, on site and remotely, and make a direct contribution to any management, supervisor and engineer meetings with the Service Managers/Regional Manager.
  • Hold regular meetings with the engineering team under the Supervisor’s control.
  • Ensure Electrical Compliance and maintain good record keeping for Company ISO Quality Management Systems and the NICEIC.
  • Control and monitor the performance of electrical specialist service providers and sub-contractors.
  • Carry out electrical competence checks on all engineers and ensure records of their level of competence are maintained
  • Maintain Calibration Records of all electrical testing equipment
  • Carry out Building Services Maintenance duties at specified sites, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and emergency lighting etc.

Qualifications or Required Experience: 

  • Time Served fully qualified engineer with a Building Services/Electrical background
  • Able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of and experience of electrical installations within commercial buildings and building services in general
  • Understanding of all relevant legislative and statutory requirements and implementation of Safe Systems of Work
  • Relevant qualification HNC, or equivalent, City and Guilds 2330, City and Guilds 2382, IEE 17th Edition Wiring
  • Regulations and preferably City and Guilds 2391, Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations, or Equivalent
  • Full UK Driving Licence
