To facilitate the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Logistics Feedstocks assets at North Tees Site. The site includes a cryogenic gas terminal, onsite tank storage, gas storage cavities and cross-site hydrocarbon link lines. To support the operations manager in running the facility in accordance with the standards & requirements of the UK business.

Support the operations engineer and operations manager in their objective of driving continuous improvement in the operations of the NTL Feedstocks systems including ethane, utilities, naphtha, propane, butane and the terminal jetties. Ensure that activities are carried out to company and regulatory standards in terms of Safety, Health and Environmental compliance.

Provide the management contact for liaison between the NTL Feedstocks plant team and the network of stakeholders (including the company supply chain planning group and a range of both internal and external customers & suppliers) to ensure that the NTL Feedstocks assets are operated in a way that provides maximum ‘On Time In Full’ (OTIF) delivery for all stakeholders.

Collate and report operating key performance indicators for the NTL Feedstocks assets. Take appropriate and necessary corrective actions to ensure KPI’s remain within target.

Provide critical technical review of relevant process safety information in connection with the NTL Feedstocks assets and to be accountable for formal management approval of such information including (but not limited to) authorisation of plant permanent instructions, temporary instructions, job methods, energy isolation procedures and ‘checking’ sign-off of controlled plant P&ID’s.

Support the development and commissioning of local projects and modifications by acting as the ‘Works Rep’ to ensure the understanding of the plant operation is properly captured in change proposals and all Hazard Study observations accurately represent the equipment and operating methods carried out in the field.


Due to the significant inventories of LPG hydrocarbons and highly flammable liquid hydrocarbons, the North Tees Logistics area is registered as a top tier COMAH installation, and is regulated under EPR legislation. As such, the job holder would be expected to hold sufficient technical qualifications and / or depth of experience to be able to demonstrate competence in the approval of plant operating methods and process safety information.

A credible candidate for undertaking this role would likely be a graduate chemical engineer, with at least 2-3 years’ experience within a petrochemicals operating company or similar.
