My client, one of the world’s largest manufacturer of petrochemicals is looking to hire a Tactical Buyer on a contract basis. The contract is due to run until July 2020.

 

The global challenge for procurement within the company is to secure uninterrupted supply of goods, materials and services to businesses, while creating value for the business. The Tactical Buyer creates value by improving total cost of ownership, leveraging buys on local, regional and global scale and by reducing procurement costs by negotiating with Suppliers. Furthermore, the tactical buyer is also required to reduce process costs by standardizing and optimizing the procurement working processes together with Suppliers. Local and Regional Procurement are part of the Global Procurement Organization reporting into the Global Corporate Shared Services organization. The Site Procurement Team manages best in class operational processes and maximizes value in purchasing and managing materials & services by leveraging economies of scale and maintaining the same high performance and service level. The tactical buyer is also a point of contact for E&PM to manage their Procurement Requirements for Teesside and to interact with the regional and global category managers. Job Purpose & Responsibilities

 

  • Procure local Projects and Technical Goods and Services packages.
  • Manage the Sourcing, Contracting and Procurement of assigned CAPEX projects.
  • Ensure compliance to regional legislation, global standards, requirements, policies and procedures including EHS;
  • Execute Vendor Qualification and evaluation (Supplier Lifecycle Management)
  • Manage complaint handling / claims
  • Share knowledge of procurement processes and policies with the internal organization. (stakeholders)

 

Requirements

 

  • At least Bachelor degree (or equivalent through experience) in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Preferably, purchasing experience combined with procurement specific education. (CIPS)
  • Self-propelling individual, professional time management and communication
  • Negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Administrative affinity and knowledge of SAP.
  • Steady & robust personality in engagements with senior stakeholders.
